Taylor Swift never set out to be extraordinary.

Like most of us, all she wanted was to be heard. Little did she know as she sat in her childhood bedroom in Wyomissing, Pa., giving voice to feelings about crushes, heartache, and troubled friendships, that one day millions of people would respond. That she would be a superstar before she was even old enough to vote.

Swift's self-titled album was released in 2006 and went multiplatinum, setting the tone for what would become the then-16-year-old's trademark: Disarmingly autobiographical songs that resonate across age and gender. Her follow-up, Fearless, released two years later, also sold millions and won four Grammy awards. Last year, Swift was the best-selling musician in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, and Forbes ranked her the 12th most powerful celebrity this year, with annual earnings of $45 million.

Most people would take this opportunity to do a victory lap. But Swift, who turns 21 in December, is far too busy performing at the 44th annual Country Music Association Awards on Nov. 10 and canvassing the country on a tour supporting her latest album, Speak Now, which was released in late October to acclaim from critics and audiences alike.

Taylor in People Country

The December 2010 issue of People Country is on newsstands now! This issue celebrates the biggest stars of 2010 – Reba, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, and Keith Urban – with an exclusive series of portraits in their favorite Nashville places. The photos in this package will be auctioned off at http://www.blogger.com/www.charitybuzz.com/peoplecountry to raise funds for Nashville’s rebuilding.

“When I was little, playing in the park was a huge part of my imagination,” says Swift, 20, who donated $100,000 to help rebuild the flood-damaged playground in her hometown of Hendersonville, Tenn. “Now, swings are a [good] place to have a conversation. You’re distracted by swinging, so you open up more.”

Taylor Swift Interview in Daily Mail

Taylor Swift's Interview in Daily Mail is below, be sure to read it. The whole article is not on here so click on the "Continue Reading" link below to finish reading.
'You learn lessons in how to treat people, and sometimes
you learn them too late,' says Taylor

Precocious musical talent, model good looks, multimillionaire status – 20-year-old country-pop star Taylor Swift leads a charmed life. But, as she tells Louette Harding, it’s the rejection and heartbreak she pours into her songs that have driven her to succeed…

Earlier this year, Taylor Swift used some of the estimated $50 million she
earned by the age of 20 to buy herself a three-bedroom condominium in Nashville, and over the months she has put her stamp on it. ‘There is this fish pond like a moat around the central fireplace,’ she says. ‘The chimney rises to the ceiling like a tower and on one side of it is a spiral staircase going to a landing/conservatory in the shape of a birdcage.
I sit in there all the time – it’s so fun.’ As a little girl, did she like fairy tales by any chance? ‘I was in love with the idea of fairy tales. My bedroom
has a balcony that overlooks the living area, Juliet-style,’ she adds. ‘Pretty shameless.’
The brazen girliness is but one aspect of this talented singer-songwriter whose country-pop second album was 2009’s bestseller in the US, and who already has three Grammys on display in that quirky living room. (There’s a fourth, but she gave it to her mum.) Her songs are heavily autobiographical, which adds a gossip-column frisson to the fun of decoding them. On her latest album, Speak Now, one track is about ‘running into a guy I used to be in a relationship with at an awards show’. (OK, I’m thinking – the subject of the song must be Joe Jonas of the pop-rock band the Jonas Brothers, or Taylor Lautner, the actor who plays the werewolf hunk in the Twilight vampire movies.)
‘He was sitting a few feet away from me. There was this horrible awkward silent fight going on between us, not even glancing in the other person’s direction.’ So you never got to be friends? ‘No, that song is about a relationship that ended pretty badly.’ (Must be Joe Jonas, then, who ended their relationship in a 27-second phone call, whereas Taylor S and Taylor L – Taylor Squared as the US press dubbed them when they dated – are now supposed to be friends.) Taylor Swift’s music has that effect, taking you back to the idiocies and idealism of youth with a sigh and a chuckle.

Taylor Suprised Wichita Radio Stations

Taylor Swift stopped by some radio stations yesterday in Wichita, Kansas. She gave some suprise interviews! Managers for Taylor told a few executives from the radio stations, but they asked for it to be a secret. So, read the article below to find out more information about Taylor's visit to Kansas. I've also added a few photos of Taylor at the radio stations along with the articles.
_______________________________________________________
WICHITA — Country star Taylor Swift made a brief stop in Wichita this afternoon, surprising staff members at radio stations KFDI-FM 101.3 and KZSN-FM 102.1, where she granted interviews about her just-released third album, "Speak Now."

Only a few top executives at both stations knew about the visits in advance. Managers for Swift, whose album sold more than 1 million copies in the first week it was released, asked that it be kept secret.

Swift, who appeared live on TV's "Dancing With the Stars" on Tuesday night, took a private plane from Los Angeles to Wichita this morning. She did the interviews, then immediately boarded the plane to head for Toronto.

At KFDI, where Swift stopped first, employees were surprised to see the 20-year-old star in the building.

Disc jockey Carol Hughes interviewed her about her album on the air from about 1:50 to 2:40 p.m., said Beverlee Brannigan, operations manager for Journal Broadcast Group.

Brannigan said she has a long-standing relationship with a member of Swift's management team.

"She wanted to come by and say 'Thank you' to our staff," Brannigan said.

When the interview was over, Swift, who had her mother, Andrea, with her, met with and talked to staff members.

"Speak Now" Sells Over 1 Million Copies!

Taylor's "Speak Now" sales are in! "Speak Now" topped her first two albums. Her 3rd album sold 1,044,477 copies in it's first week! Congratulations to Taylor! "Speak Now" is amazing and Taylor broke a few records by selling so many copies! Read the article below for more information.
_______________________________________________________________
Back in July Billboard was predicting that Taylor Swift’s album “Speak Now” would sell more than one million albums during its first week out.

Will Botwin, President/CEO of Red Light Management and ATO Records even said:

“It feels like if anybody can do it now, she could be the one. She has the sales base and heat from the last few albums. And with all the amazing things she has going on, she is as likely as anybody to reach a million units, especially with the efforts of Big Machine and Universal behind her.”

Many people left a comment saying that it wasn’t possible for Swift to sell one million copies during its first week since people aren’t selling CDs these days.

Well, thanks to Hits Daily Double, the official numbers are in. How do you think her album did?

Swift sold 1,044,477 albums of her new album “Speak Now” during its first week in stores. Country group Sugarland came in second place with just under 87,000 copies. That’s a huge difference between the first and second spot.

Whether you’re a fan of Swift’s or not, you can’t deny the affect she’s having on the music industry.

~ First fragrance will debut in Fall 2011~

NEW YORK, Nov. 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Elizabeth Arden, Inc. (Nasdaq: RDEN), a global prestige beauty products company, announced today that it has signed an exclusive global license agreement with Taylor Swift, the internationally acclaimed music star, to develop and market her own line of fragrance products.
The license agreement includes the development, marketing, and distribution of fragrances and ancillary products.  The first fragrance will debut in prestige retailers in North America during the fall of 2011.  Taylor will be personally involved in all aspects of product development, packaging and advertising.
"We are very enthusiastic about partnering with Taylor Swift," said Ronald Rolleston, Executive Vice President of Elizabeth Arden.  "Her rise to superstardom has been meteoric, and her multiple awards and incredible record sales are a testament to her extraordinary talent.  Equally important to us is what Taylor represents as an artist: a role model who inspires her global fan base every day.  We look forward to launching a new fragrance brand that reflects every facet of this extremely talented young artist."
"I have always loved how fragrance can shape a memory the way certain scents remind you of events and people that are imprinted in your thoughts," said Taylor Swift. "Lately I've been having fun experimenting with combining some of my favorite scents, so I'm really excited about working with Elizabeth Arden to develop my own unique fragrance."
Music sensation Taylor Swift is one of the most talented and successful artists on the music scene today. She is a beloved and highly relatable singer-songwriter with an incredibly devoted fan base; her intensely personal lyrical style led the New York Times to describe her as "one of pop's finest songwriters." Ranked #12 on the 2010 Forbes Celebrity 100 list, she has won four Grammy Awards (for her second album, Fearless) and was named "Artist of the Year" by Billboard Magazine.  Taylor's 15-month, 107-date FEARLESS 2009/2010 Tour sold out arenas and stadiums in 88 cities in five countries spanning four continents.  In January 2010, Nielsen SoundScan named Swift the top-selling digital artist in music history, with over 28 million digital tracks sold. Her popularity extends to the social media universe as well: she has nearly 4.5 million followers on Twitter, and over 11.6 million fans on Facebook.  Taylor is currently slated to play 85 shows in 18 countries in 2011 in support of her new album, Speak Now.
