NEEDTOBREATHE Opening for Taylor Swift on Tour
Since the 2006 release of their debut album on Atlantic Records, NEEDTOBREATHE has enjoyed great success across several radio formats, and played more than 1,000 live shows, increasing their audience at each turn. Maybe best known for their hits “Something Beautiful” and “More Time,” their music has been featured in countless television shows and movies, including MTV’s “The Hills,” and the motion picture P.S. I Love You. The band has built an impressive following for their live shows, which are renowned for their seamless blend of ambient, arena-ready soundscapes with the band’s own decidedly Southern sensibility. NEEDTOBREATHE’s third and most recent album, “THE OUTSIDERS,” was released late last summer to universal critical acclaim and a Top 20 debut on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. The band plans to record and release a new album for Atlantic in 2011.
"It means a lot to us that Taylor hand-picked us for her Speak Now tour,” NEEDTOBREATHE guitarist and co-songwriter Bo Rinehart says. “Everyone knows she has amazing fans, and we thrive on performing live, especially in front of new audiences.”
NEEDTOBREATHE will join the SPEAK NOW Tour when the North American leg kicks off on May 27th in Omaha, Neb., and will be featured on all shows in the US and Canada.
Taylor is currently slated to play 87 shows in 19 countries spanning four continents on the TAYLOR SWIFT SPEAK NOW WORLD TOUR 2011, which kicks off February 9th in Singapore. The North American leg of the tour is sponsored by COVERGIRL®, and produced and promoted by The Messina Group (TMG). Ticket prices start at $25.

Taylor Swift Interview in Daily Mail
'You learn lessons in how to treat people, and sometimes you learn them too late,' says Taylor |
Precocious musical talent, model good looks, multimillionaire status – 20-year-old country-pop star Taylor Swift leads a charmed life. But, as she tells Louette Harding, it’s the rejection and heartbreak she pours into her songs that have driven her to succeed…
earned by the age of 20 to buy herself a three-bedroom condominium in Nashville, and over the months she has put her stamp on it. ‘There is this fish pond like a moat around the central fireplace,’ she says. ‘The chimney rises to the ceiling like a tower and on one side of it is a spiral staircase going to a landing/conservatory in the shape of a birdcage.
has a balcony that overlooks the living area, Juliet-style,’ she adds. ‘Pretty shameless.’
‘He was sitting a few feet away from me. There was this horrible awkward silent fight going on between us, not even glancing in the other person’s direction.’ So you never got to be friends? ‘No, that song is about a relationship that ended pretty badly.’ (Must be Joe Jonas, then, who ended their relationship in a 27-second phone call, whereas Taylor S and Taylor L – Taylor Squared as the US press dubbed them when they dated – are now supposed to be friends.) Taylor Swift’s music has that effect, taking you back to the idiocies and idealism of youth with a sigh and a chuckle.

Speak Now!
Taylor on the Cover of Parade Magazine
In the October 24 issue of PARADE magazine, pop princess Taylor Swift opens up about the challenges of staying grounded while living her dream. Here are some highlights from the exclusive interview.
On her love life.
“Things change so quickly. I have no idea who’s going to be a recurring character and who’s just a guest star for one episode. Love is fascinating. Wishing for it, pining for it, and the anger that comes when you lose it. I used to think that I could figure out some pattern to love, like if you don’t text a guy back for a half hour, he’ll like you more. But there is no pattern. Absolutely nothing is predictable in love or in life.”
On the bittersweet mea culpa "Back to December," from her new album Speak Now.
“Guys get what they deserve in my songs, and if they deserve an apology, they should get one. There was someone who was absolutely wonderful to me and I dropped the ball, and I needed to say all that.”
On how she stalked a fan in Nashville one day.
“I was driving near the mall and I saw this girl with my tour T-shirt on. She was probably 11. I made a U-turn and tried to follow her—I really had to do some maneuvering. I found her in a video-game store and just kind of walked up to her and said, ‘Oh, hi. I wanted to meet you.’ She had no idea what to say for about three minutes. Then her mom walked over, burst into tears, and proceeded to tell me that they’d driven all the way from Austin, Texas, just to see where I was discovered.”
On her own fame.
“I don’t like to feel like I’m some fragile package that has to be shipped by high-priority mail and handled with white gloves.”
On dropping in on a journalism class at the University of Kansas, where her best friend from high school is a junior.
“I just kind of walked in and sat down and tried to learn something. Even if you’re happy with the life you’ve chosen, you’re still curious about the other options. Sometimes I will make a glass of iced tea and watch life go by. I chose one road and didn’t choose the other, but I can still see what that one looks like. In the past year I figured out that happiness is what everybody wants more than anything. Now I think if you’re in the middle of your day and you realize you’re just happy in the moment, you should celebrate that.”
On growing up.
"I still have mixed feelings about what growing up is — this thing that happens to everyone, so I've heard."
On the pain of being a teenage outsider.
"If I was going through a really tough day at school and I didn't have anyone to talk to or sit with at lunch, I would say to myself over and over again, 'It's okay because I can write a song about this later.'"
On her fear that listeners won't connect with her songs.
"That's definitely a nightmare that I wake up from sometimes. Saying things in songs that people will care about is my biggest hope, and saying things that nobody will care about is my biggest fear."

"Dear John" Lyrics
When my days once revolved around you
Counting the footsteps
Praying the floor won’t fall through again
My mother accused me of losing my mind but I swore I was fine
You paint me a blue sky and go back and turn it to rain
And I lived in your chess game but you change the rules everyday
Wondering which version of you I might get on the phone tonight
Well I stopped picking up and this song is to let you know why
Dear john, I see it all now that your gone
Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with
The girl in the dress cried the whole way home
I should’ve known
Well maybe it’s me
Am I blind to miss him someday
Or maybe its you and your sick need to give love then take it away
And you’ll add my name to your long list of traders who don’t understand
And I’ll look back and regret when they said run as fast as you can
Dear john, I see it all now that your gone
Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with
The girl in the dress cried the whole way home
Dear john, I see it all now that it was wrong
Don’t you think 19s too young to be played with by your dark twisted games when I loved you so
I should’ve known
You are an expert at sorry
And keepin’ lives hurried
Never impressed by me
Acing your tests
All The girls that you run dry
And tired these eyes cuz you runned them out
But I took your matches before fire could catch me so don’t look now
Im shining like fireworks over your sad empty town
Dear john, I see it all now that your gone
Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with
The girl in the dress cried the whole way home
I see it all now that your gone
Don’t you think I was too young to be messed with
The girl in the dress wrote you a song
You should’ve known
You should’ve known
Don’t you think I was too young
You should’ve known
"Better than Revenge" Song and Lyrics
Now go stand in the corner and think about what you did
The story starts when it was hot and it was summer and
I had it all I had him right there when I wanted him
She came along got him alone and let's hear the applause
She took him faster than you can say sabotage
I never saw it coming
Wouldn't have suspected it
I underestimated just who I was dealing with
She had to know the pain was beating on me like a drum
She underestimated just who she was stealing from
She's not a saint
And she's not what you think
She's an actress
Whoa
She's better known for the things that she does on the matress
Whoa
Soon she's gonna find
Stealing other peoples toys on the playground won't make you many friends
she should keep in mind
She should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge
She listed life that it's a party
And she's on the list
She looks at me like I'm a trend
And she's so over it
I think her ever-present frown is a little troubling
She thinks I'm psycho cause I like to rhyme her name with things
But sophistication isn't what you wear or who you know
Or pushing people down to get you where you wanna go
Well they didn't teach you that in prep school so it's up to me
But no amount of vintage dresses gives you dignity
She's not a saint
And she's not what you think
She's an actress
Whoa
She's better known for the things that she does on the matress
Whoa
Soon she's gonna find
Stealing other peoples toys on the playground won't make you many friends
she should keep in mind
She should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge
Im just another thing for you to roll your eyes at, honey
You might have him but haven't you heard
Im just another thing for you to roll your eyes at, honey
You might have him but I always get the last word (word)
She's not a saint
And she's not what you think
She's an actress
Whoa
She's better known for the things that she does on the matress
Whoa
Soon she's gonna find
Stealing other peoples toys on the playground won't make you many friends
she should keep in mind
She should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge
Do you still feel like
You know what you're doing
Cause I don't think you do
Do you still feel like
You know what you're doing
I don't think you do
I don't think you do
Let's hear the applause
C'mon show me how much better you are
See you deserve some applause
Cause you're so much better
She took him faster than you can say sabotage
Taylor Interviewed by Rude DJ
This Taylor Swift interview was done about a year ago after the VMA Kanye West incident. Taylor politely asks the radio dj to talk about something other than the VMA incident, but the dj doesn't listen, he keeps asking questions about it and three times she tells him to move on to something else... but he doesn't, so end of the interview and Taylor's publicist takes over.

Taylor Swift Talks to Billboard Magazine
On worrying about sales of her music: “I have a lot of anxiety about things on certain days, but I have anxiety because I care. It’s not anxiety that’s crippling. It’s a five-minute conversation with myself about if a [sales] number really defines this piece of art that I’ve created and what that means, and what the number’s going to be. I try to predict what it’s going to be, and then I realize that I can’t predict what it’s going to be, and then I sit there and say something to myself like, ‘Well, you’re happy today. Enjoy this and be proud of the music that you’ve made.’”
On what you’ll possibly see on her next tour: “I already have drawings in my journal of what the stage should look like. I know a few of the set list orders, [and] I want there to be an entire wedding scene on the stage.”
On caring about what the media says: “I care about what everyone thinks of me, and I’m not afraid to say that. There have been times when it’s absolutely leveled me and ruined my day. Then there are times when I can hear it and I’m kind of like, ‘Oh, I’ve heard that before,’ and I just continue on with my day.”
